The "eagle" is back

On the 23rd November 2007, the newly restored „Eagle“ was returned to the open area of the DB museum in Nuremberg

Along with other historic models, the „Eagle“, the first railway locomotive in Germany, was extensively damaged by fire in October 2005.

This historic locomotive was restored at great expense at the DB Dampflokwerk in Thuringian Meiningen.

A financial donation of € 4,000.00 from PIKO helped to pay for the restoration of this locomotive.

The sale of a special wagon commissioned soon after the tragedy of the fire enabled this sum of money to be handed over to the DB Museum in December 2005.

Mrs Ortrun D Wilfer, as a representative of PIKO, was present in Nuremberg to mark the newly-restored Eagle’s triumphant return.
