Opening of the PIKO Shop in Wellig, Maisprach, Switzerland The model train retailer Train Store Wellig in Maisprach, Switzerland marked the opening of a PIKO Shop on October 10th 2009. Dr. René F. Wilfer was quite glad to be able to come for the opening of the first PIKO Shop in Switzerland. He attended the opening of the PIKO Shop together with the Swiss PIKO importer, Mr. Manuel Kehl of KML GmbH. The 4-year old model train retailer provided modern surroundings for the new PIKO Shop. Many customers of Train Store Wellig came to the opening and were very glad to be able to take part in this occasion. Dr. René F. Wilfer, along with the shop owners Mr. Tobias Wellig and Ms. Diana Otzenberger, enjoyed the chance for considerable discussions with PIKO fans, who were happy to report their very positive experiences operating PIKO models. Naturally, there is special interest in Switzerland in the PIKO models of Swiss trains, above all the Am843 diesel locomotive model, which PIKO first released in 2008. Dr. René F. Dr. René F. Wilfer in intense discussion with Rudolf Berger, a PIKO fan from Wohlen in Aargau, who used the opportunity to express his wishes regarding new products.

Outside the store entrance, the Wellig family, along with some friends, provided a Raclette buffet, which certainly contributed to the day’s success.

After the official opening, it was very pleasant to sit with a glass of Fendant and the excellent-tasting Raclette, while enjoying further conversation.
