Piko Roll out Desiro Erzgebirgsbahn
On the 05th of June, Pockau Lengefeld station became the setting of a special train trip to Marienberg and back as the PIKO H0 model of the BR 642 Desiro Diesel Multiple Unit of the Erzgebirgsbahn was presented to the public.
This event was the brainchild of Mr. Ingolf Wappler, mayor of the mountain community Lengefeld, who organized and participated in this special trip with the energetic support of the Erzgebirgsbahn.
The PIKO model, which is has been available since the beginning of June in model shops at an RRP of € 222.99 for the DC model and € 240.99 for the corresponding AC version, proudly carries the crest of the mountain city Lengefeld and now is not only seen on stretches of the Erzgebirgsbahn, but also as a H0 model on many model railway layouts all over the world promoting this idyllic city in the mountains.
The large gathering of reporters were able to convince themselves of the accuracy and the detailing of the PIKO model on the spot as they were able to compare it to the 1:1 scale version that was also present!
The Highlight of this special trip was a photo stop on the "Auhagen bridge" in Marienberg – this was very popular with the photographers.
