Intermodellbau Dortmund (16th April to 20th April 2008)

The "Intermodellbau", is Europe‘s largest fair for model building and model sport and took place for the 30th time in the Dortmund Westphalia halls running from the 16th until 20th of April 2008. It again proved to be a huge attraction for innumerable model railway enthusiasts.

In halls 6 and 8, the subject of model trains took centrestage. Many notable manufacturers and model train specialist suppliers used this opportunity to present their products.

On the PIKO stand in hall 6, the newly delivered garden railway locomotive, the class 218 in ocean blue & beige was admired by all. Visitors also registered their interest in the garden railway railbus, the VT98 and a special PIKO G track show informed the model railway fans about the new G scale track from PIKO.

The PIKO H0 assortment showed both Diesel locos, the AM843 and the BB67400 as factory samples. A finished model of the Hondekop drew the attention of many visitors from the Netherlands who has been waiting for the debut of this EMU in the popular yellow colour scheme.

Alongside to the 30th year of the Intermodellbau, 2008 also marked the celebration of model railways with 50 years of the BDEF (alliance of German railroad friends). We would like to join the celebrations to and express our sincere congratulations.
