In 2022, PIKO Spielwaren GmbH celebrates a special anniversary. On 01 May 2022, it will be exactly 30 years since company boss Dr. René F. Wilfer and his wife, Ortrun D. Wilfer, entered their company in the Sonneberg district of Oberlind as owners for the first time. On that day three decades ago, the company was still far from being one of the most important manufacturers of model railways in the world.
Time to look back over our shoulder and review the developments of the past years.

29.04.2022 PIKO Anniversary "30 years of PIKO Spielwaren GmbH"
PIKO trains have been manufactured in Sonneberg, Thuringia, for 70 years. Almost exactly 30 years ago, Ortrun D. Wilfer and Dr. René F. Wilfer saved the former GDR company from its final demise. Today, PIKO is on a solid footing and plays a leading technological role in the model railway industry.
