01.10.2021 Premiere of the TT steam locomotive BR 83.10 in Leipzig
One of the highlights at this year's "modell-hobby-spiel" fair is the premiere of the TT steam locomotive BR 83.10 #47120/#47121. On Friday, 01.10., at 11 a.m., the premiere of the first series locomotive took place at our stand. You can find first pictures directly from our stand below. You are cordially invited to convince yourself on site of the detailed model realisation of this interesting steam locomotive.

With the new construction of the PIKO class 83.10 of the DR, there is for the first time a series production of this extraordinary locomotive type in TT scale. In keeping with the special character of the prototype, the delicately detailed PIKO model can present itself as an outstanding locomotive. The striking locomotive with three domes and three-light headlights impresses with the outstandingly successful implementation of the prototype proportions and comes with numerous extra parts: fine lines, wind deflectors, bell, whistle, water box cover, generator, steps to the buffer beam, ladders, hand rods, heating pipes and sand pipes. The fine spoked wheels, the filigree steering as well as the detailed cab interior including firebox lighting make the locomotive an additional eye-catcher on the layout. The PIKO BR 83.10 is also technically up to date and has cab and running gear lighting. The powerful motor in combination with two traction tyres provides sufficient tractive power for all prototypical train compositions. Brake hoses and draw hooks are also included with the model.
The following applies to the sound version #47121: The factory-installed PIKO SmartDecoder 5.1 Sound for Next18 is a powerful multi-protocol sound decoder of the latest generation. The decoder provides a noise-free sound experience at the highest level. It can be used in DCC and Motorola® digital systems and also runs in analogue mode with DC or AC voltage. The decoder is RailCom® and RailComPlus® capable. The innovative PIKO SmartDecoder XP 5.1 Sound automatically recognises the respective operating mode and has a wide range of setting options for the additional functions. The decoder works with an autoadaptive motor control for a silky smooth operation and is suitable for a continuous current consumption of up to 1,5A. The amplified function outputs can each be loaded up to 0.5A. Its many braking section functions include ABC braking, ABC automatic shuttle and ABC slow speed. The sound part can control fixed function outputs as well as the motor output of the decoder. For example, the lighting of a diesel locomotive flickers when the engine is started.
